Careers interviews with a career adviser in Poland (via Skype)

In collaboration with colleagues at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, the Careers Service at the University of Glasgow is offering a small number of 1:1 appointments with a careers adviser in Poland via Skype. These appointments would be useful for anyone wishing to pursue their careers in Poland after graduation. The careers service in Krakow will be able to answer your questions on the following topics:

 

• CV and Cover Letter checks;
• preparing application documents Polish;
• labour market;
• Skills demanded by the employers;
• Interview tips;
• Where to look for a job in Poland.

 

The appointments will run at the following times:

 

Monday 8th April 

 

• 09.00 – 09.45
• 10.00 – 10.45

 

And Monday 15th April

 

• 11.30 – 12.15
• 12.15 – 13.00
• 13.00 – 13.45

Career Development Workshop and Recruitment Fairs, China

 

 

The British Council, operating in China as the Cultural and Education Section of the British Embassy/Consulate-General, provides a range of support services to UK alumni (Chinese who have studied or are studying in the UK) in China. Providing career development opportunities is identified as a key element of our services to UK alumni.

 

 

As a kick-off event to a series of career development activities in 2013, we will run ‘Career Development Workshops’ in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu in March. These workshops aim to help UK alumni to better understand the job market in China and support them in their job hunting. Recruitment fairs will also be held in conjunction with these workshops.

Job search and career planning seminars

The Careers Service will once again this semester be running the highly popular series of careers seminars designed primarily (though not exclusively) for international students looking to remain in the UK to find employment beyond graduation. The series includes sessions on job seeking in Scotland and the rest of the UK, CV's, application forms and interview technique. The fifth and final session provides students with the opportunity to have their CVs checked and participate in practice interviews with real graduate employers.

The sessions will run at 1pm and again at 3pm on the following dates:

Tuesday 26 February: Seminar 3 - Application forms
